Welcome to the TenantTrust mobile application (the App) run by Tech For The People Ltd (Company registered in England & Wales under Company No: 15097346) (referred to as “Company”, “we”, “us” or “our” throughout this document).Our aim is to provide tenants in the UK with a more transparent experience when seeking a new home.TenantTrust welcomes all users to use our platform to accurately review their experience with landlords, agencies or properties. TenantTrust also welcomes all users to utilise the information available on the App to enhance the decision making process when finding a new home.

Our Privacy Policy provides users with an explanation on what data we collect and use from users and how this data is managed. All users who use the App do so by expressly agreeing to these Terms of Use. We advise all our users to read our Terms of Use and raise any queries you may have by emailing us at [email protected].

When we refer to “you”, “your” or “yourself” we are referring to any individual or entity using our App for any of its services or the account holder.

1. User Conduct when Leaving a Review

We encourage all users to leave a review when it is appropriate to do so. Leaving accurate reviews helps the App in achieving its goal which is to allow tenants a greater level of transparency when finding a new home.

When is it appropriate to leave a review? - You must have either visited the property in the capacity of a potential tenant or have lived at the property yourself. Your review must reflect your personal experience and may not be left on behalf of another. Under exceptional circumstances, we may accept a review on behalf of another, should the individual wanting to review be incapable of doing so for any reason.

What is an appropriate review? - Your review must accurately reflect your experience. We encourage you to leave constructive feedback for the landlord/agency.

What is not an appropriate review? - Whilst we encourage you to share your feelings and opinion, we do not tolerate the following:
Any discriminatory language whatsoever. This includes language regarding one’s race, nationality, religion, sex, disabilities, age or sexual orientation.
Sharing sensitive information or personal data about another individual. This includes but is not limited to: Name, Initials, Address or contact details, Age, Information regarding relatives.
Any other identifiable information. This has the potential to endanger another and we shall use our endeavours to ensure these reviews are removed.

Defamatory reviews - reviews which may cause harm to reputation or cause damage or loss may be removed. Should you wish to report a civil infringement then we encourage you to utilise our affiliated third-party links. Any report involving a criminal element should be made to the Police.

Reviews in return for an incentive/bribe - we aim to keep all reviews as genuine as possible for the benefit of all renters. Writing a review in return for payment or incentive is disingenuous and harms fellow renters. Should we suspect this has taken place, we may contact you or the landlord/agency to provide evidence of your viewing or tenancy at the property.Promotional content in any form whatsoever. Such reviews shall be removed. Should you wish to promote your business on the App, please contact us at [email protected].

How and when should you report a review? - If for any reason whatsoever you feel a review is disingenuous or reflects any of the points noted above under “What is not an appropriate review?” you should report the review by emailing us at [email protected]. Our team shall endeavour to thoroughly investigate each report and take whatever action we deem necessary.

2. Using the App for all ServicesCreating a user account - You are only permitted to have one user account on the App and you are prohibited from sharing this account with others for any reason whatsoever. You must select your own username and this username will be unique to you. We encourage you to protect your anonymity by not including any information within your username which could reveal your identity. You accept full responsibility for any loss or damage which may arise from revealing your identity within your username. We do not tolerate usernames with discriminatory language as noted above and these accounts may be removed by us. You assume full responsibility for your account and any activity which may arise from your account and who accesses and/or controls your account. It is your responsibility to keep all information regarding your personal account up-to-date and ensure that your contact information continually remains valid. You can amend your information in the Settings tab or by contacting us at [email protected]. By creating an account on the App, you confirm that you are over 18 years old.

Using our third-party products and services - From time to time we may present you with links to third-party products or services. We do not provide any form of promise or guarantee whatsoever to you when you utilise such third-party products and services. You must rely on the Terms provided by the third-party itself. We do not assume any responsibility or liability whatsoever for any of our third-party products or services.

3. Intellectual Property
What is owned by us?
- The TenantTrust App, trademark, the look and feel of the App and all other intellectual property (our Brand) are owned by Tech For The People Ltd. You agree to not copy, distribute, modify or otherwise use or make financial gain from our Brand or our App in any way that has not been expressly permitted by us.

What is owned by the user? - You own any user-generated content, such as a review, that you may submit onto our App. By publishing any user-generated content whatsoever onto our App you hereby permit us to use such user-generated content without any notice or payment to you and without restriction as allowed by law. In the event of a copyright infringement upon your user-generated content, you grant us the right absolutely to bring an action against anyone who commits such copyright infringement without further notice to you.

5. Termination
Our right to terminate or suspend your account
- In the event that we determine that you have breached any of these terms or any of our policies whatsoever we reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and to suspend or terminate your access to any user-generated content you may have published on our App. Your reviews which have been published by you may remain accessible and viewable by the public and other users. Should you wish for your reviews to be deleted in the instance that your account is terminated or suspended by us then please do contact us at [email protected].

Your right to terminate or suspend your account - You have the right to terminate your account at any time and for any reason whatsoever. Once your account has been terminated, your reviews which have been published may still be accessible and viewable by the public/other users. Should you wish to ensure all your published reviews are deleted along with your account, please ensure to delete them manually through the My Reviews tab under Setting prior to terminating your account. In the instance that you fail to do this, but wish for your reviews to be deleted after your account has been terminated, please do contact us at [email protected].

7. Jurisdiction
Our policies, terms and agreement with you, along with your use of our App and any dispute resolution that may take place in any form whatsoever shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales.

8. Changes to these Terms of Use
We reserve the right to make changes to our Terms of Use, Privacy Policy or Legal Disclaimer at any time. We shall notify you by email regarding these changes and request that you read our updated terms or policy. It is the responsibility of the user absolutely to provide a valid email address. Once you have been notified by email, you express your consent and agreement to our amended terms or policies by continuing to use our App for any reason whatsoever.
